Restoring Hope. Building Health. Strengthening Families.

Community Health & Livelihood Empowerment Programme

For more than six years, Antioch Independent Baptist Church (AIBC) has been walking alongside men and women living with HIV/AIDS in our community.

At any one time, approximately 80 participants take part in the programme. They come to the centre regularly, not simply to receive assistance, but to find encouragement, learn, build practical skills and strengthen their ability to care for themselves and their families.

Participants Men and women supported at a time
Months Months in the core empowerment journey
Months Months of household follow-up opportunities each year

Living with HIV/AIDS can affect much more than a person’s health. It can affect confidence, relationships, household stability, nutrition, income and the ability to provide for a family.

For the past six years, Antioch Independent Baptist Church has been walking alongside men and women living with HIV/AIDS in our community.

Our approach is simple: listen to people, support them, equip them, remain present in their homes and help them move toward healthier and more productive lives.

“Sometimes what a person needs most is to know that somebody has not given up on them.”

This programme was born from a desire to make a difference in the life of somebody — not only by responding to immediate needs, but by helping people develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed for the future.
